現在担当している役割は？
営業活動全般・仕入れメーカー窓口業務・在庫管理統括など
仕事の面白さ、やりがいは？
時代と共に変わっていくが、今では私たちが使う銅という素材が世の中に広く出ていくきっかけとなり、自動車の電気化にも貢献している。目に見えない部分で社会を支えられているのがやりがいの一部。また、若い子たちと一緒に成長できるのも大きな喜びです。
辰己屋金属に入社された時のエピソードやきっかけは？
私が入社した2000年の頃はちょうど就職氷河期の真っただ中。就職浪人も覚悟していたさなか、募集の声をかけていただき今の仕事に巡り合うことができました。
実際に働いてみて、働く前と後で印象が変わった点は？
金属という事で、学生の時は具体的にどのような事をやっているのかわからなかったが、入ってみるとあらゆる業界とつながりがあり、社会の下支えとなる“なくてはならない物”を扱っていると実感しました。
特に印象に残っているお仕事や達成感のエピソードは？
某一番売れているメーカーのハイブリッド車案件が決まったとき。それまで主に細かな仕事ばかりこなしていたのですが、一気に大きな仕事をいただき、世界中を走る車に自分たちの扱う製品が搭載されていると聞いて“この場にいる意味”を強く感じました。
今後挑戦していきたいこと、成長したい分野は？
世代的にも上の方になってきてしまったので、若手のバックアップに力を入れたいです。挑戦の気持ちを引き出しつつ、ポジティブに一緒に成長していきたいと思います。

明るく元気あふれる職場で、若手が活躍できる場は広がっています。大手ほどのスペシャル待遇はないかもしれませんが、“大の良さも小の良さも兼ね備えた”ちょうどいいポジションの会社だと思っています。
What is your current role?
I am responsible for a wide range of sales-related tasks, including overall sales activities, communication with supplier manufacturers, and inventory management supervision.
What do you find interesting and rewarding about your work?
As times continue to change, the copper materials we handle are now being used more widely throughout society and are even contributing to the electrification of automobiles. One of the rewarding aspects of this job is knowing that we support society behind the scenes in ways people may not notice. Another great joy is being able to grow together with younger employees.
What led you to join Tatsumiya Metal? Do you have any memorable stories from when you joined?
I joined the company in 2000, right in the middle of Japan’s employment ice age. At the time, I was prepared for the possibility of remaining unemployed after graduation, but I happened to be approached about a job opening, which led me to the work I do today.
Has your impression of the company changed after actually working there?
As a student, I honestly had little idea what working with metals actually involved. However, after joining the company, I realized how connected this industry is to many different fields and how we handle products that are truly indispensable in supporting society.
What work or accomplishment has left the strongest impression on you?
One particularly memorable experience was when we secured a project related to a hybrid vehicle from one of the world’s top-selling automobile manufacturers. Until then, we had mainly handled smaller projects, so receiving such a major opportunity was a huge turning point. Knowing that the products we handle are installed in cars driven all around the world made me strongly feel the significance of being part of this work.
What would you like to challenge yourself with or grow in moving forward?
As I’ve become one of the senior members of the company, I would like to focus more on supporting younger employees. I want to encourage their willingness to take on challenges and continue growing together in a positive way.
Do you have a message for people who are interested in Tatsumiya Metal?
We have a bright and energetic workplace where young employees have many opportunities to succeed. While we may not offer the kind of special待遇 you would find at major corporations, I believe we are a company that combines both the strengths of large organizations and the advantages of a smaller company, making us a well-balanced place to work.
